Which Art Decor is the Most Fun in the Sun? Beach Art
A beach decor style exudes oceans, sand, shells, magnificent sunsets,...and, for me, rain. That's right, I live along the Pacific Coast and it's not always fun in the sun, especially during the winter months. However, the beaches hold their own beauty and mystery. Plus, the last time I checked, seashells were waterproof. So, if you want your beach cottage or cabin to have a unique coastal feel, then you may find a treasure or two here. However, I will warn you, the beach art prints and posters here are primarily fair-weather artworks and could easily fill your home with a sea breeze that has freshly kissed the crest of an ocean surf...

"The cure for anything is salt water―sweat, tears, or the sea."
Isak Dinesen Quote
As the following Unknown Quote states, "Eternity begins and ends with the ocean's tides." This is just the type of quote that gets one thinking, and there is no better way to reflect about mind bending thoughts like this, then at the ocean's edge, staring off into a yonder that proves eternity exists. That is the very thing that inspired my own abstract seascape and here is what I had to say at the time of its inception, "A blue sky blends an ocean of light into a final wave that embraces the tropical beach that is awaiting it's arrival. Just the spot to daydream. Of course, you are free to see whatever you choose—that is the beauty of abstract art."

Black and white photography has such a way of making us see things in a different light—literally—a different light. Usually when we think of the beach we think of the bright blue or yellow lights of the spectrum that play in harmony. However, black and white photography puts us is in a position to pay attention to lines of white light. Take the following three prints, for instance: Do you see any one of them that doesn't force your eye to catch the light? And do you wonder where it takes you? The end of a horizon or to the beginning of its source? That's what I like about artwork, they inspire us to remember that thing we mange to forget about during a stressful, busy day at the office—to look for the wonderment around you and see where it takes your imagination.
"Why do we love the sea?
It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think."
Robert Henri Quote

There is something very calm about seeing a boat on the beach. Maybe it is because the day's work is complete and now it is time to rest... I don't know, but I do like the mood their image creates. But, if this is too peaceful for you, then you could always check out the sailboats under Nautical Decor.

When a beach umbrella isn't enough to keep you protected from the heat or you need some privacy to change your swimwear, head to one of these cute little beach houses. And you could take Ron Peters title of his artwork as a tip and get one, 'Before the Crowd'. Decorating your walls with this art will let everyone know that your idea of comfort at the beach is possible.

Children live for the beach where I come from. Sometimes I don't know what is more wonderful to watch, the surf or the kids having a ball: searching in the sand for treasure; molding sand into castles; tickling the waves; or marveling over how close the seagulls come to their food. All in all, I believe the beach is the best playground every built.

Conch shells can be so much fun as you listen to the different sounds various shell can make. Everyone has heard the classic phrase, "Can you hear the ocean?" I don't know if you hear the ocean, or if you just hear the static noise around you as it whistles through the shell's chamber, but I'm a romantic and prefer to think I do the water singing a tune. I'll bet the the shell from Lynn M. Stone's, 'Queen Conch in Sea Foam' has a real oceanic song to share.

Am I dreaming? Is that a wild horse on the beach? Oh, wow I love that artist Jan Lakey captured these photographic pictures, so we have the option of hanging on our home walls some beach art with a unique mood.
For health reasons, kelp is often called a miracle plant based on all the nutrients they offer, but I happen to feel that kelp would work better for my bathroom decorating needs under the title of 'unique beach art' or 'beach flowers'.
It just won't seem right to exclude the mermaids, after all, this kind of whimsical beach art, whether they're swimming to shore or enjoying the rare freedom of flight, like Marc Chagall's, "La bale des Anges", one can't argue on the unique elements this art would add to any beach decor. If you want to add some fantasy to a bathroom spa; these are the prints to do it with.
"I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each."
T.S. Eliot Quote

Sometimes I dream of having a staircase in a house that looks just like a nautilus shell. I mean, can you imagine coming out of your bedroom wearing a silky night gown, designed strictly for show, and embarking down a staircase that had the exact dimensions, on a grand scale, of an Eric Kamp's, 'Close-up of Nautilus Shell Spirals' print? Wow, who knew hanging an art print on a wall was like hanging a blueprint of your dream home?

Oh my gosh, the beach is packed and it's not packed with seashells, it's full of people! People with buckets, picnic baskets, towels, hats, sandals, suntan lotion, kids, balls, chairs, surfboards, phew! How can anyone find an inch of sand to sit on. You don't, instead you hit the waves. That's your only option. But, after you've hit the cool water, look back again onto the beach and see the joy and laughter—it's marvelous. That's why you go to the beach; for the fun of it all.
"My life is like a stroll on the beach...as near to the edge as I can go."
Henry David Thoreau Quote

Beaches are so scenic. It is like you just need to pull a chair up and 'stare' a while.

What a great way to rekindle childhood memories of your past hours spent at the beach. You can also hang these sand castle prints in your own kids room to let them dream of what they could build in the sand.
"I honestly think the beach is the only place children actually entertain themselves."
Donna McLavy Quote

As much as I understand scallops are enjoyed as a seafood dish, the following images have no need to be cracked open. They're strictly for bringing pleasure to the eye and believe me Harold Feinstein's, 'African Fan Scallop' definitely pulls off just how pleasing these little shells can be. It's not hard to believe that scallop shells are considered a wonderful decorative motif for a kitchen wall, once you see just how delicious their fluted patterns are.

To me a seascape print that has only beach and water, with a shell or rock pocking out of the sand is a true 'E-scape'. When I look at a seascape I want to see nature. I want to feel nature. I want to feel rich colours. I want to feel eternity. And there isn't a better way to do that than with artwork, especially with pieces created by artist Pam Carter. Oh, these visuals make me want to walk right into them and leave my own footsteps as the sea breeze lifts my spirt to joy.

You may not be able to hold one of these shell prints to your ear and hear the ocean call, but I can guarantee that if you hang some of these shell prints as home decor, you will not smell the kelp either. I'd say that was a benefit with shell art; wouldn't you?
"One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach―one can collect only a few,
and they are more beautiful if they are few."
Anne Morrow Lindbergh Quote

The beauty of text in the prints and posters is that it can be used as informational signage. Here's a decorating idea, hang one of these wooden mounted prints outside. Let the weather have its way with them, I'm sure they're durable enough to still do their job and get the word out.

Star light, star bright first fallen star I see tonight... These images could be proof that when a star falls from the sky they eventually land on a beach. Ok, ok you scientists are laughing out loud now, but hey, a beachcomber can dream if they want to or at least hang one of these prints at the beach cottage.

The day is coming to a close and nobody wants to leave the beach. But, leave we must. Thank goodness for artists who understand this and create works of art, like the following pieces, just so we can adorn our walls with gorgeous sunset prints. Now a day's end never has to end.

Only at the beach can nature make some waves; shake things up. Actually, I should say, "Surf's UP!" I don't know about you, but I'll have to stick with the print by Pierre Doutreleau, 'The Wave' because I just don't have the courage to go face to face with the force of nature like in the water visuals of 'Wave Rider' or 'The Great Wave at Kanagawa (from 36 views of Mount Fuji), c.1829 by Katsushika Hokusai.

Umbrella art will definitely add just enough colour to your beach decor style without being too bright. After all, that is what an umbrella is supposed to do; give us some shade. But here's a tip: make sure your umbrella's are tied down like artist Henri Deuil's, 'Tied Beach Umbrellas' or else the wind will turn them into sails and send them off into never, never land.

Wonder what sand plastered to a wall would be like for a texture? Craziness. It might be better to stick, and I do mean that literally, to a beach wall mural where you can have all the sand of a tropical beach affixed to your wall, yet it won't be messy. Especially, if you like to walk through sand like the person did in the mural called, 'Footprints in Sand, Tropical Beach, Maldives'.
Pure white shells are just gorgeous. If you looked and looked hoping to find treasure on your outing at the beach and all you came up with was a shell, then count yourself blessed, especially if it is pure white. I think artist Darlen Shiels', 'Shell II' is stunning. Look how she captured the light energy of this unique gem. And I say gem, because is there anything more beautiful or perfect or precious! This print framed would be like showcasing jewelry in your bathroom.

Women are great at the beach because they can really bring a sense of fashion. We are so blessed today because we don't have the restrictions like the bathers of days gone by. That's why I loved the artwork by Lowell Herrero. His piece titled, 'Agnes' inspires me to dress for freedom, because that's what a day along the shore is about.
