How the expression of text moves me

How does one fill some white space, or sometimes in my case, black space with a word or saying that will truly convey its meaning? Well, it's with typography. As in, exactly which form (font), will best connect the message to the mood. This sometimes can come in the form of block letters, or sometimes a bounty of curves is essential, or sometimes I just feel the need to express a word in a raw handwriting style like chalkboard. But at the end of the day, I love fonts. I love them for the sake of themselves. So much so, that on occasion, I just allow the spirit of typography to whisper in my ear ‘the word’ it wants to express. Crazy, I know. You'd think it would be the other way around. But, if you don't believe me on how influential and persuasive a font can be, then you should see the documentary by Gary Hustwit, called, "Helvetica". It'll show you another side to which came first, the typeface or the artist. Helvetica was born to give us direction. ;-)

Font Quote

What is it about a font that draws one in?
It holds the energy of a line's true identity.
